Centenary Anzac Test Friday 9th May 2008 Australia vs New Zealand @ Sydney Cricket Ground, 7:30pm Rabbitohs Turn Into Kiwis This Friday 06 May 2008 Three of the Rabbitohs' finest have been selected to represent New Zealand in this Friday's Centenary Test against Australia to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Roy Asotasi has been named in the front row, captaining the Kiwis against the Kangaroos for the second time. Joining him in the engine will be Issac Luke who has been named as hooker, and David Fa'alogo will lock the scrum. The Kiwis are naming a strong line-up to take on Australia with Sonny-Bill Williams playing from the second-row, Leeds' Brent Webb playing fullback and Frank Pritchard being injected into the game from the interchange bench. The two sides will run out onto the hallowed turf 100 years to the day since the first Trans-Tasman Test was held and Folau, playing only his second Test for the Kangaroos, implored fans to get involved in the historic occasion. "I am very excited to be a part of this game," he said. "This is my first look at the SCG and I am really excited to play at this historical place for Rugby League. "With the bunch of boys we have here, we think we can turn it around, the professionalism and experience that Wayne Bennett and Steve Kearney bring to the camp is second to none." New Zealand Captain Roy Asotasi is wary of a Kangaroos side even with their captain, Darren Lockyer, ruled out of the clash with a knee injury. "Australia have always been a solid side, regardless if they have Lockyer or not," he said. "They have been very dominant over the years but we will be doing everything we can to get the win." Kidwell joined Asotasi in making public the players' concerns about previous coach Gary Kemble this year, which led to Kearney and Wayne Bennett being appointed. I love the ones of the haka but I really liked the last one also with the interviews by Roy and Issac and of course the quick clip of the Big Bunny!! I knew that the All Blacks performed the haka but I didn't know until recently that all the NZ teams do it. If I was playing against them it would scare the bejeepers out of me but it is so awesome to watch!! Columnists in the lead-up to Sunday's (AEDT) 23-19 win over England said the haka should be banned, with one saying the throat-cutting gesture would be grounds for arrest if performed on a street. The All Blacks are being tipped to line out against Ireland in a neutral test in New York as part of New Zealand's new agreement with the United States rugby union. The two countries signed a five-year deal yesterday that will see New Zealand help the development of the American game while hoping to cash in on lucrative commercial opportunities in the massive United States market. The New Zealand Rugby Union has made no secret of its desire to have the All Blacks playing glamour matches in neutral venues where significant revenue can be generated. NZRU officials are currently in Hong Kong finalising arrangements for a test there against Australia in October. But there is clearly appeal in tapping into the United States where rugby remains stalled in its infancy despite plenty of resources. The large Irish population in New York lends itself to the possibility of a test being played there.
